Fantasy Allsvenskan tips and other opinions
The Fantasy Allsvenskan game is about to launch and we think our tips will help you gain an edge over the crowd. Registration for the game is free and it’s a lot of fun during the summer months so if you haven’t picked your team yet what are you waiting for?
The new game and point counting for all fantasy managers starts on Saturday, March 30, 2024, and we’re giving you some tips on who to select and who to avoid in your squads. Let’s dive straight in.
Fantasy Allsvenskan tips – which players to consider and which to avoid
In our Fantasy Allsvenskan tips, we’ll go category-by-category based on the positions the players on the list have been put as playing. We love players who have been placed in the ‘wrong’ category in our opinion and here we’ll identify those for you.
Fantasy Allsvenskan tips: Goalkeepers
We start our fantasy Allsvenskan tips with the goalkeepers. All the popular choices don’t need discussing. We’ll pick one name here worth considering for your team and this is Tim Rönning (Halmstad).
Rönning joined Halmstad only this winter and he will be their undisputed starter. He was the main goalkeeper for last season’s vice-champions Elfsborg in 2022 and now goes to a team that had the sixth-best defence in the league last year and kept their main core of defenders intact this winter. Priced only at 5.0 we think Rönning is a great choice as a cheap goalkeeper option.
Fantasy Allsvenskan tips: Defenders
Let’s turn our attention to the defenders next. Here we selected three names for our fantasy allsvenskan tips and here they are.
Adam Stahl (Mjallby) – price 5.5. Stahl is listed as a defender when he always plays in an advanced attacking role for Mjallby. In fact, in 7 matches last season Stahl started as a striker too in the 3-5-2 formation. This added to the fact that Mjallby are generally pretty solid defensively should make you consider Stahl for your squad.
August Wangberg (GAIS) – price 4.5. With our next fantasy Allsvenskan tip, we select the captain of the newly promoted GAIS Wangberg. Being the team’s skipper and their main right-back guarantees him a starting role in almost every match. GAIS had the best defence in the Superettan last season so at such a low price he is a player worth considering just for his regular starts and potential for clean sheets.
Sotirios Papagiannopoulous (AIK) – price 5.5. We believe AIK will have a much better 2024. This added to the fact that captain Milosevic might not be available all season makes Papagiannopoulous a nailed-on starter in defence. At this price and playing for one of the better teams on paper we think he should be considered by you for sure. Oh, and just to add Papagiannopoulous is no stranger to scoring goals with powerful headers from set pieces.
Fantasy Allsvenskan tips: Midfielders
Let’s start our fantasy Allsvenskan tips for the midfielders with a player we think should be avoided.
Avoid Adam Carlen (Göteborg) – price 5.0. Despite his generous price and the fact that he is a typical central midfielder, Carlen will be playing out of position this season. Göteborg have a single centre-back on their books. Carlen paired with him in defence in every game so far in 2024. He is destined to continue as a defender so we don’t see value in selecting him.
Simon Skrabb (Kalmar) – price 8.5. Kalmar’s captain Skrabb is the next name on our list of fantasy allsvenskan tips for midfielders. He is here for the same reason. Listed as a midfielder Skrabb plays more often as a secondary striker so he can bring you nice bonus point returns. The fact that Skrabb was last year’s Kalmar top goalscorer proves that. The fact that he is also their team captain pretty much guarantees him regular starts too.
Viktor Djukanovic (Hammarby) – price 9.0. The same goes for Djukanovic. Listed as a midfielder he’s often spearheading one of the most potent attacks in the league. Djukanovic was last season’s top goalscorer for Hammarby with his 11 goals. He added a bunch of assists to that too so selecting him for your squad is in our opinion a no-brainer.
Fantasy Allsvenskan tips: Forwards
Last on our fantasy Allsvenskan tips list we’ll put three strikers you might overlook otherwise.
Silas Nwankwo (Mjallby) – price 6.0. Mjallby might not be the highest-scoring team in Allsvenskan but the 20-year-old Nwankwo could be playing a key role for them in 2024. Aged only 18 Nwankwo was Mjallby’s top goalscorer during the 2022 season. Unfortunately, for him, a season-ending injury in pre-season last year meant he hardly played. Nwankwo is fit now and we think he could be the hidden gem you’ve been looking for.
Gustav Engvall (Varnamo) – price 7.5. Engvall has a guaranteed starting role up front for Varnamo. The team that finished fifth last season continues to have all of their front three in the ranks. Expect regular returns from Engvall. He surpassed 120 fantasy points in 2023 and we can see him doing that again this year.
Yousef Salech (Sirius) – price 7.0. Our final name on this fantasy Allsvenskan tips list is a player that only this winter arrived in Sweden. Signed as a replacement to the sold star striker of Sirius Salech is expected to be the preferred option in attack. He had a great scoring record in Denmark and now joins a team that plays attacking football and in 2023 had the fifth-best attack in the league.
Fantasy Allsvenskan tips – other quick tips
As the season progresses we’ll be giving you more fantasy Allsvenskan tips but here are some more quick ones.
Backing AIK to do much better this year and selecting two or three of their players in your squad is not a bad idea. Back them early too as their early schedule is very kind.
We don’t advise you to rush using any of your Chips early. Let the ball roll for a bit. Watch, and analyse the first few games for every team. Then comes summer when some will have double weeks due to European involvements. This is the best time in our opinion for the chips to be activated.
